Forever Garden

We would like to say “THANK YOU” to all of our wonderful residents and their families for making our Forever Garden a big success. On Mother’s Day, residents and their families helped to plant the Forever Garden with beautiful flowers that they donated. The Forever Garden is in honor of all the residents passed and present here at the Terrace.

A “BIG THANK YOU ” to Girl Scout Troop 60562 for honoring our Veterans with a Float in the Memorial Day Parade and also to the Waterloo VFW for providing a chicken BBQ lunch for our Veterans.

Waterloo, NY is the Official Birthplace of Memorial Day. Memorial Day is officially a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation’s service during wartime. For many Americans, however, Memorial Day weekend marks an unofficial beginning to the joys of summer. That is not so in Seneca County, NY community of Waterloo, which has been officially recognized as the birthplace of Memorial Day. On May 30th each year, regardless of which day of the week that date occurs, Waterloo residents gather for a parade and solemn cemetery event.

WOW! what a great time we had with our winter Olympics. The residents enjoyed playing different games each day- they built a mountain, had a snowball toss through the Olympics rings, hit the snowman, knocked down the mountain and a snowball toss into a target. We had over 25 residents participate in the games. On Friday, there was a medal ceremony and everyone received a certificate. The three top winners also received medals. At the closing of our games the residents enjoyed Olympic torch cupcakes and hot coca with marshmallows or whip cream.
