On Tuesday, February 26th, the residents made birdfeeders out of pine cones, peanut butter, and bird seed. Oh, it was messy but so much fun. Gloves helped to keep the residents hands clean as they applied the peanut butter and rolled/pressed the seeds onto the cone. We strung the birdfeeders outside on the trees by our bird watching window. It didn’t take long for the wildlife to find this bonanza. Residents spotted birds, squirrels, deer, and turkey all partaking of the feast: sometimes simultaneously! By the next morning, all traces of the 20 birdfeeders were gone. Unfortunately, I did not capture any pictures of the wildlife but I do have some of the residents making the birdfeeders. They really enjoyed this activity and there was lots of laughter during the process. Enjoy!
