On Valentine’s Day our residents are going to be gifted with 31 new blankets. Here’s the story.
Aaliyah, a five year old girl was born with neurofibromytosis. Her mom, Christi, wanted to instill in Aaliyah the value of giving back since Aaliyah herself receives so much assistance. Aaliyah decided she wanted to see how many blankets she could get donated to give out to senior citizens.
Christi contacted Eden Heights of West Seneca and asked if we were interested. Naturally, we were. We engage with the local community at every opportunity but this was something really special that we wanted to be a part of.
Arrangements were made with Christi to bring Aaliyah to our residence at 9:30 A.M. on Valentine’s Day. We felt this was a wonderful way to express love for others on this special day. Christi is very excited about this event and so happy that her child is being afforded the opportunity to learn a very valuable lesson. We are honored to be a part of this remarkable young lady’s journey. Please join us. Channel 4 and the West Seneca Bee will be covering this human interest story.
