On Wednesday we took a trip to Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna, NY. The residents were in awe at how beautiful the architecture was. It was started in 1921 and finished in 1926. There are several kinds of marble used in the church, along with beautiful stained glass windows and rare african mahogany pews. It was a very spiritual experience for our residents. We also learned about the mission and legacy of Father Nelson Baker, as we visited his museum. Before we left the residents visited the gift shop where they purchased various religious gifts.
